Clinical Psychologist
PhD candidate (Law)
Board Approved Supervisor
Welcome, I’m so glad you’re here. Whatever you're carrying, whatever you've been through — it matters.
Hi, I’m Pei. Originally from Southeast Asia, I am a first generation Chinese-Malaysian immigrant, though I've called Australia home for the past 20 years. I bring with me a rich tapestry of personal and professional experience, all of which shape how I show up —both as a person and as a psychologist.
In my practice, I strive to create a safe, supportive, and empowering space. My approach is collaborative, holistic, trauma-informed, and strength-based. I am deeply passionate about walking alongside children, adolescents, and adults on their journeys of healing, self-discovery, and growth—helping them to thrive in an ever-evolving and often complex world.
I am an approved supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia. Mentoring early-career clinical psychologists and registrars is something I hold close to heart—not only to support their development but to help shape future practices that are ethical, compassionate, and client-centred.
Currently, I am pursuing my PhD at the Sydney Law School, University of Sydney. My PhD project is investigating the contribution of expert evidence in supporting children's voices and participation in care and protection proceedings in New South Wales.
I look forward to working with you and supporting you on your journey!
My PhD project
My PhD project is focussed on how expert evidence promotes the child’s voice and facilitates child participation in care proceedings in New South Wales, Australia. I am privileged to be supervised by Professor Rita Shackel (Sydney Law School) and Professor Judy Cashmore (Sydney Law School, School of Education and Social Work) at the University of Sydney. My research and career goals are to promote child participation and children’s rights within social justice frameworks. I am intensely passionate about advocating for children's rights and law reform.
